Prior to the pandemic, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, South Broward District – your hometown law enforcement department – partnered with city officials, community members and outside entities to help bring times of laughter, educational opportunities, and various resources to the great residents of West Park. As we go further into 2022, we are excited about having new moments to share such as: Community Walks against crime, crime-prevention assistance for our homeowners; educational seminars for our elderly, and driveway initiatives to name a few.
Safety is always on our minds and thinking of innovative ways to increase the overall quality of life for you – the residents – is very important to us. If you haven’t heard yet, the South Broward district has launched its first ever Twitter page. The Twitter App can be easily downloaded from the iTunes App store or Google Play. Simply download the app, set up an account, and search for us @BSO_SBroward. This app allows for the South Broward District to share up to date information as well as safety tips and reminders.
Also remember you can sign up for the Broward Sheriff’s Office Road 2 Safety Program where you will receive informative videos, emails safety tips, and the Sheriff’s monthly messages directly to your inbox. You can register at www.sheriff.org.
Lastly, let’s not forget our children. Spring Break is coming up at the end of March and children will be out of school. Please be aware of children playing and slowdown in the residential areas. The speed limit is 25 mph in the residential areas unless otherwise marked. Remember that stop signs are there for your safety and the safety of other drivers and pedestrians. A full stop is required at these signs before proceeding though the intersection when it is clear to do so.
In closing, I want to remind you how important community involvement and partnerships are to us. BSO is only one part of the multi-faceted team it takes to build and maintain a vibrant community. We value each resident, family, business, religious institution, social program, and so forth within this great city and county. You are important and a needed partner at the table of discussion within this community.
