Dean Decker, CBO, serves as the City’s new Building Official. He has more than thirty (30) years of experience administering the Florida Building Code and regulations. He is a State of Florida licensed Building Official and a Mechanical Plan Examiner and Inspector. Mr. Decker received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Broward County Building Officials in 2017. We are pleased to welcome him to the City.
Mr. Decker is employed by CAP Government, Inc., the City’s new Building Department services provider. CAP Government Inc. was established in 1989 and specializes in providing Building department services exclusively to government clients. Beginning with the Village of Key Biscayne, CAP’s pioneering efforts facilitate the successful implementation of outsourced Building Departments across South Florida. For over 25 years, local agencies have relied on CAP’s expertise and customer-centered solutions. CAP’s services have been shown to improve the efficiency of existing departments, increase customer service satisfaction, and streamline operations transitions.
The firm’s professional management has contributed to its growth in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. The firm currently represents over forty (40) Municipal Clients and four (4) Educational Clients, with a staff of over 150 employees.
The CAP team is dedicated and responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the City of West Park, while providing services through our Building Department. We are proud to be incorporating cutting edge technology by providing Electronic Plans Review (EPR) and Inspections services by the end of this year.
Online Inspection Requests and EPR allows applications to be submitted and routed electronically to the appropriate reviewers and inspectors, saving time and simplifying compliance. This will allow the City of West Park community access to a customer-friendly online Building Department Services.
