As the year is coming to an end, I want to thank God for bringing us this far. I have been to several viewings, wakes, and funerals, and not to mention the tons of condolences that I have shared throughout this year. I am appealing to all, if you have not taken the vaccine please do so, as it is known to help lower the risk of hospitalizations from the COVID-19 virus. None of us knows how long these circumstances will be around, so let us protect ourselves and others.
My heart goes out to the family of the great General Colin Powell, who lost his battle to Cancer and Covid-19 complications. I am sending prayers to all that are planning funerals for their loved ones. Please remember to stay safe by wearing a mask, washing and sanitizing your hands frequently, and continuing to stay socially distanced.
Also, let’s stand in solidarity with the family of veteran Frank Miller to celebrate his life. His family has reached out to me and those who knew Frank knew he was a man who fought for this country, and who cared deeply for his community; please show your support.
Let us navigate into the festive season safely. As November 2021 is observed as National Diabetes Month, remember to take precautions, continue to have your wellness checkups, eat healthy, and exercise daily.
Look forward to the holiday events that are scheduled in November and December in the city. All upcoming events with dates are posted on the city’s website.
I am looking forward to all of us having a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season.
