With the return to workplaces, employee’s dogs now are facing separation anxiety. Many pet parents are turning to Dogtopia daycare for socialization which is appreciated by four-legged family members.

“For more than a year, dogs have provided comfort and companionship in homes,” says Dahlia Abadir, COO for Paws Up, a Dogtopia franchisee. “Today for many of our pet parents, departing from their furry member for the first time, this may result in separation anxiety by both dogs and their parents. Our open-play facilities provide new interactions by video throughout the day. Peace of mind is achieved for both family members as pets enjoy much-needed socialization.”

“Similar to a child’s daycare, at Dogtopia we provide safe socialization, exercise and education for 4-legged family members,” explains Kaitlyn Patrick, operations manager for Paws Up. “One of the biggest benefits at our Dogtopia are extra steps with everything from report cards to personal updates for pet parents. Many of these dogs have received a tremendous amount of attention during the past two years and now it is important to provide the safest experience possible.”

A recent customer sentiment survey conducted by Paws Up with clients indicates increased travel by pet parents this spring and includes:

  • After travel restrictions through the pandemic, 62% of pet parents expect to travel this spring and summer.
  • Quality of care is preferred over convenience by 70% of respondents, supporting a long-term thesis to provide the highest quality dog care at Dogtopia.
  • Most of the Dogtopia pet parents do not have school-aged kids at home (80%)

With increased pet visits in addition to parents travel plans for this summer, Paws Up is preparing to add additional Dogtopia franchises.

“During this past year, we have opened up six new Dogtopias as we see the popularity of our service offerings resonate with parents,” says Abadir, the COO for Paws Up. “Since January, we have acquired two new Dogtopias in South Florida. As a company which is passionate about providing personalized experiences for dogs, we now have 12 Dogtopias and plan adding more in 2022.”
