Congratulations to our South District Explorers who participated in the 2019 Florida Sheriff’s Explorers Association (FSEA) Delegate Conference! The competitions took place at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office Training facility and our Explorers had an amazing time!
The Florida Sheriff’s Explorers Association (FSEA) Delegates competition brings Explorer posts from across Florida together to compete in firearms competition, officer down, domestic violence and traffic stop scenarios. We are proud of our Explorers whose success in this statewide competition is a direct reflection of determination and training conducted on a weekly basis at BSO’s South Broward district office. As a result of their hard work our Explorers placed 2nd overall in traffic stop scenario and received an award trophy.
Currently, there are 14 active Explorers registered in the BSO South Broward Post. The Explorer program works with teens and young adults ages 14 to 21, and gives participants the opportunity to learn and experience law enforcement duties alongside BSO’s deputies. The Explorers undergo specialized training and participate in community service projects. The program emphasizes responsibility, leadership, teamwork and self-reliance.
