The holidays are a wonderful time for loved ones to gather and reflect on the year gone by. They are a time to celebrate the coming year with hope and enthusiasm, and, most importantly, the holidays give us an opportunity to be thankful for what we have and support those who are less fortunate. This season, let us all reach out a little further to those around us. Let us look for those who might need that extra helping hand. Let us thank the veterans and the volunteers for their service, the elderly for their examples, the young children for their hope and optimism, and friends for just being friends.
On a personal note, I am thankful to our city staff and elected officials, all of whom are committed to working together with the community to make a positive and lasting contribution to our great city. I am so fortunate to serve with such dedicated men and women. They truly care about our community. Thanks to them, the year ahead promises to be a positive and exciting one for the City of West Park, and I am confident that together we will achieve great things. In closing, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who supported me in my bid for re-election as Mayor. I am grateful to you for your support and humbled to have learned that I was the number one vote getter in the election.
It is truly an honor to represent you on our City Commission and it is you who have helped me to do the best I can. As with any thing important, it takes a lot of people to be successful I cannot thank all of you personally, but feel there are some that I simply must mention. First, my loving, supportive, and understanding wife who constantly puts up with everything that comes from living with a pastor and public servant. Next, thanks also to those who worked on my campaign, donated to my campaign, assembled yard signs, put signs up, dropped literature, etc. What a great team! And just as important, I am thankful to all who voted for me and for the endorsements of the Sun-Sentinel, AFL-CIO, Hispanic Vote Pac, Firefighter and Paramedics, and many other businesses, organizations and elected officials. I am honored to be re-elected, and I want to thank voters for their support.
I look forward to continuing to work with our commissioners and Staff; we still have much work ahead of us, and I look forward to getting started as we move forward to serve the best interests of this community. We will have our differences as elected officials, but will need to ensure that we work together as we face our challenges. As our work continues, I will be following through on the pressing issues that are already on the table. I plan to address several areas that many of you had concerns about. I look forward to working with and serving you for the next four years. I truly appreciate your confidence in me and I will do the best I can for our city.
I extend my warmest regards and best wishes to everyone in our City. May the spirit of this wonderful season be with you and your loved ones throughout the holidays and many blessings in the New Year! What a great community we have and I am so blessed to be a part of it! Thank you again.
