The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center is known for its richly diverse summer camp programming. This summer in particular will be extra special because nobody knows summer like the MAR-JCC’s Camp Sol Taplin!
In its efforts to keep its long-standing record of being rated one of the best summer day camps in Miami-Dade County for kids ages 2 ½ to 15, and address the popular trends of summer day camp experiences, the MAR-JCC’s Camp Sol Taplin will offer exciting extended destination field trips with its new Explorers Camp. This camp has been customized and designed specifically for today’s pre-teen and teenage campers. “We’re reshaping the day-camp scene for 2016 with amazing long-distance trips, thrilling adventures, and awesome activities,” commented Neal Buchholz, Camp Sol Taplin Director.
Participants will take part in kayaking, rock climbing, snorkeling, free diving, go carting and much more. The new sessions are offered weekly and give campers of the same age the option to join Explorers’ overnight trip destinations to Orlando, Key West, Tampa and the Space Coast. Campers can marvel at the magical Wizarding World of Harry Potter and dive in for a dip at Blizzard Beach. They can also choose the thrill of the worlds fastest roller coasters at Busch Gardens, chill out and discover the underwater world of Key West snorkeling and so much more.
“I think our programming is top notch. No other camp in South Florida offers the variety, quality and caliber of programming that Camp Sol Taplin does” adds Neal. “We want our camp to appeal to all types of kids; we like to consider ourselves a camp for all campers, that’s why we believe in our theme this year, that it will truly be a “Picture Perfect Summer.”
Camp Sol Taplin also offers summer employment for high school and college-age kids with positions as LIT (Leader in Training) and CIT (Counselor in Training).
