Entire families–both two legged and four- -enjoyed a fun event at Bay Front Park, where everyone who attended Walk for the Animals had a “dog-gone” fun time.
Presented by Pet Supermarket, the event attracted more than 3,000 people and all proceeds went to the animals at the Humane Society of Greater Miami. Commissioner Sally A. Heyman was the Grand Marshall and NBC6 meteorologist, Ryan Phillips, emceed the event for the sixth year.
Attendees enjoyed a morning filled with fun activities, entertainment, doggie contests, a fabulous raffle and yummy snacks.
Not to be missed was the latest event addition – the “Walk for the Animals Adoption Arena” where local rescue groups brought puppies, kittens, dogs and cats, in an effort to find loving permanent homes.
“Every dollar raised from the Walk goes toward sheltering more than 300 homeless cats and dogs in our care every day. In addition, the funds help support our spay/neuter services, quality adoptions, humane education and pet therapy,” said Laurie Hoffman, Executive Director.
