It’s a culinary throwdown guaranteed to pay off big-time for one creative contestant: The folks at Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews are offering a $10,000 FIU scholarship to the student winner of their annual burger recipe contest.
Now in its second year, the contest offers an opportunity for college students to focus on something most of them love: burgers. But not just any burger. Red Robin is looking for one that ups the ante on awesomeness.
The winner will be invited to serve his or her burger at South Beach Wine and Food Festival’s Amstel Light Burger Bash hosted by Rachael Ray, and there’s a chance the burger will also become a gourmet burger at Red Robin.
The contest runs until 4:59 p.m. Nov. 20. Entry to the contest is free, and no payment, purchase or donation of any kind is necessary to enter or win. Enter your recipe at www.sobefest.com/redrobin. Paper entry forms may be obtained at MMC’s Graham Center, Room GC 1210, or BBC’s Scholarship Desk in HM 210 (attention Shantell Rolle).
Last year’s contest was won by senior marketing major Alex Bello, who created the Buffalo Mac ‘N Cheesy Burger.
