Hundreds of art fans, families and the curious came out to have fun and see the works of more than 20 South Florida exhibiting artists at the inaugural “West End” Arts Fair, Apr.18-19, at the town center grounds off N. Kendall Drive at SW 162nd Avenue.
A Fun Kids Zone, which included a bounce house, kept youngsters entertained while five food trucks served a variety of delights. Amix of live performers and a deejay provided a musical background during the day.
Sixteen community partners, including the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum, helped make the community’s first Arts Fair a sunny success as West Kendall joined other South Florida communities in hosting cultural events. Miami-Dade District 11 Commissioner Juan C. Zapata and his staff directed arrangements for the first-time effort, along with a citizens committee.
