Miami Beach is known for its “hidden treasures” and the location of one of the best was easy to spot last week, as hundreds of foodies, notables, celebs and others crowded into the West Avenue location of “Barton G.
The Restaurant” to celebrate owner Barton G. Weiss’s 10th anniversary, and also tour his new party venue, “UpTop at Barton G.,” an elaborate terrace overlooking the garden at his signature spot. But the big news is that Weiss is opening a new similarly named restaurant in Los Angeles in January, bringing the number of restaurants to four.
The West Coast “Barton G.” will join the Miami Beach location, along with Prelude by Barton G. in the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, and the Dining Room at the Villa (formerly the Versace Mansion). Also at the event, City of Miami Beach Commissioner Michael Gongora presented Weiss with a proclamation, showing the city’s appreciation for his culinary, hotelier and event wizardry.
