Chamber Pre-Launch Event a Success

By Antranette Pierre….
The Greater Miami Gardens Chamber of Commerce is officially here! As the City of Miami Gardens has become the focal point and model for many successor cities, it’s only logical we take the next step. The Chamber hosted its first event: Networking in the Gardens—a precursor to the official launch on March 30th.

Ducati Miami was the host of the prelaunch event and networking session. Located along the Palmetto Expressway and 20th Avenue, Ducati Miami offered its beautiful showroom as the backdrop to this business event. Surrounded by dozens of beautiful state-of-the-art motorcycles, more than 100 entrepreneurs and business professionals came to network and hear information about the city’s newest venture; several attendees also checked out the motorcycles or took pictures with their dream cycle. Attendees included Wachovia, Bank Atlantic, Regions Bank, Black Global Bikers, Verizon, St. Thomas University, Express Employment Professionals, Miami Job Corps Center, Costcos, Community Newspapers, Euphoric Healing Center, Lyfe Management Group and so many more. “I made some excellent business contacts and enjoyed the background rumble of Ducati motorcycles heading out for test rides,” said Michael Huffaker, Express Employment Professionals.

D’Occassions Catering who provided a mouthwatering array of food catered the affair. Councilmembers Oliver Gilbert and Felicia Robinson were also there offering their support to the Chamber and its future members. “We know that our businesses are an integral part to our economy and we’re here to help,” said Councilman Gilbert.

The event was definitely a who’s who of the Miami Gardens and surrounding area. “The diversity of the various businesses that attended was impressive. I see the chamber as being a proactive voice of the Miami Gardens business community,” said Mark Brown, President of the Black Global Bikers Association.
