The Underline is a 10-mile-long stretch of biking and pedestrian trails and park spaces located beneath the county’s Metrorail between the Miami River north of Brickell and Dadeland South stations.
Three public meetings are scheduled in April, and area residents, business owners, and visitors are encouraged to attend and participate in the interactive discussions:
Coral Gables to Dadeland South, Thursday, Apr. 16, 6-8 p.m., Korach Gallery, Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center, UM School of Architecture, 1223 Theo Dickinson Dr. in Coral Gables. Meeting focus: Metrorail (M-Path) from LeJeune Road (SW 42nd Avenue) and US1 to the intersection of Old Dixie Highway and Denicke Street.
Brickell Area, Friday, Apr. 17, 5-7 p.m., Miami-Dade County Main Library Auditorium, 101 W. Flagler St. Meeting focus: Metrorail (M-Path) from the Miami River to SW 26th Avenue.
Vizcaya, Coconut Grove, Douglas Road to LeJeune Road, Saturday, Apr. 18, 10 a.m.-noon, Vizcaya Village Frost Museum of Science, 3280 S. Miami Ave. Meeting focus: Metrorail (M-Path) from SW 27th Road to north side of LeJeune Road and US1.
Each meeting will be approximately two hours in duration with the purpose of gathering feedback on what community members want to do most on The Underline. Consulting design team James Corner Field Operations will lead the discussions, providing an overview of the Framework Plan, Demonstration projects and setting priorities from new and existing ideas on the plan.
The vision for The Underline is to create a linear park that will enhance connectivity, mobility, and biking safety for hundreds of thousands of Miami-Dade residents and visitors.
