Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is offering water conservation rebates to property owners that have a senior tax exemption benefit on their property taxes. The program’s goal is to assist senior citizens to conserve water and save money on their water bills by incentivizing them to install high-efficiency toilets in their homes.
The senior high-efficiency toilet rebate program offers up to $175 for the purchase and installation of one EPA WaterSense certified toilet or up to $300 for the purchase and installation of two EPA WaterSense certified toilets.
“Conserving water is essential and we are working hard on initiatives to educate and assist Miami-Dade County residents on efforts to preserve it,” said WASD director Lester Sola.
The Miami-Dade County Commission adopted the county-wide Water Conservation Plan as part of a larger effort to focus on the efficient use of the county’s water resources.
