9/11 was a most appropriate day for the first session of the #LovingMeMore Project created by Gladys Mezrahi, founder of The Power of the Heels Foundation.
Appreciation for those who help others was a strong theme that opened the program for 31 teenaged girls and 12 Moms from Grace Leadership Preparatory Institute and A Better Me organization. With the goal of educating and empowering the young girls to create social change by disrupting the poverty cycle, Mezrahi created this program to help girls become self-sufficient, financially educated and emotionally healthy.
Guest speakers included DeAnne Connolly Graham on the “Magic of Connecting”, followed by Pamela Kohl and an introduction to “Money Matters”. Dalit Moskona introduced them to the “Spark Within” and tools for stress management.
Sophia Furman said, “This was a fulfilling experience where we were able to not only help others, but grow as an individual and learn from this amazing organization.”
Meeting sponsors included Miami-Dade Comm. Sally Heyman; Aventura Library; Mo’s Deli; Eric Krevat; Executive Investment Partners; What A Prop; Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce and interns from Nova SE University.
