Today The Gabriel South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton officially opened its doors on the iconic Ocean Drive in Miami Beach. The opening of the highly anticipated hotel included a first-look party for invited guests featuring a ceremonial ribbon cutting officiated by CGI Merchant Group Founder and CEO Raoul Thomas, Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber, The Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and the hotel’s general manager Michael Ryan. The event was attended by CGI Merchant Group, Highgate, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, city officials and other Miami notables. The party included live entertainment, music and culinary by the team at INK Entertainment.
Located at 640 Ocean Drive, The Gabriel South Beach is comprised of four individual buildings – including the historic Park Central Hotel, Heathcote Apartments and the Imperial Hotel, presenting travelers with the classic Art Deco design and architecture synonymous with Miami Beach. This historic property has 132 guest rooms and suites and two pools, including a show-stopping, glass bottom pool on the roof overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
“The opening of The Gabriel South Beach will usher in a new era of allure and cache for Ocean Drive reminiscent of the 1930s golden age of glamour on Miami Beach,” said Thomas. “As long-term investors, we strive to make a positive and lasting impact on the communities where we invest and being a branded hotel with Hilton as our partner, we can touch people on a global scale through their loyalty program. This is one of the first of many strategic investments we anticipate making into the iconic neighborhoods that make up the cultural fabric of Miami Beach.”
Ushering in a new era of hospitality, The Gabriel South Beach will be one of the first Conscious Certified Hotels (CCH), a hospitality collection by CGI Merchant Group with the ultimate goal of transforming the travel industry by spearheading environmental and socially conscious initiatives as part of the day-to-day operations and brand mission for all CCH properties. To illustrate the hotel’s commitment to these sustainability efforts, the officiants cut a “living” ribbon made of fresh, olive leaf garland to commemorate the grand opening.
The Gabriel South Beach Curio Collection by Hilton is also part of Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest-loyalty program for Hilton’s 18 world-class brands.
