The second edition of the Panamerican Benefit Gala Show at the Knight Concert Hall of the Adrienne Arsht Center on Saturday, Oct. 15, is an artistic and humanitarian event unusual in the city of Miami.
A night where art and philanthropy work together uniting foundations, sponsors, artists, philanthropists, leaders and the general public to celebrate the diversity and cultural richness of the continent, strengthen bridges of identity in our region and, above all, materialize the enormous power of teamwork to promote a common cause: the education of our children.
This year, 28 nonprofit organizations have come together through the América Viva Alliance (AVA) to bring to life this event where eight countries are represented: Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Mexico, Canada and the USA. With the background of having impacted more than 1 million students globally through their programs, these organizations present an exciting night of entertainment, networking and solidarity that will be remembered by many in Miami.
Created in 2019, AVA connects nonprofit organizations of different origins, taking inspiration from the multiculturalism of the Americas to jointly create and produce top-level events, 100 percent for the benefit of the most disadvantaged children on the continent.
Women who are socially committed and aware of their influence as agents of change lead this initiative that seeks to consolidate itself as a philanthropic reference in the city. The organizing committee of the II Pan American Charity Gala is made up of the directors of the 8 leading foundations of the event. Some of them have broadly integrating visions of education, such as Alexandra Stelling (Friends of the Children of Venezuela) who firmly believes that “education is the main path for the development of a country,” Antonella Romero (The Nobis Foundation) affirming that “the education is the most powerful tool to transform lives,” or Lala Lovera (Share for a Life Colombia) who states that “dignifying the role of education is the pending task that all citizens of the world have.”
Others have decisive missions from their specific areas of influence, such as Gladys Sanmiguel in sports (Colombianitos Foundation) “education reduces violence, combats inequality, generates opportunities and transforms realities,” or Jania Isaac and Isabelelena Octavio (Healthy Bella’s Foundation) “granting the right to an adequate education and a worthy job in an inclusive environment, without distinction of physical condition or mental ability.”
From the artistic area, Carolina Lizarraga (director of the América Viva! show) is convinced of the “power of art to enhance creativity, sensitivity and perseverance.” Catalina Escobar (Fundación Juanfe) is a believer of the transformative role of formal technical education in young people “We invest to achieve their empowerment, their job stability and their economic self-sufficiency.”
Promoting humanistic values is crucial for Rocío Devesa (America Developing Smiles ADS) who considers that education “is essential to create free and fair societies,” and Ana Teresa Rodríguez (New Land Theatricals) asserts that education is a way to “better understand where we come from, who we are and what our contribution to society can be.”
About the show América Viva! 100 Voices
The magic of dance and music on stage will be the ideal vehicle to express the solidarity that these organizations share, under an artistic feast of talent led by the legendary Paquito D’Rivera together with 100 choristers from the Miami Children’s Chorus directed by Liana Salinas. They will join the original cast of the show made up of the Latin Grammy nominee América Viva Band, and the versatile dancers of the New Land Dance Company, to delight an audience that will feel the satisfaction of collaborating with a just cause.
As if that were not enough, the majestic setting of the Knight Concert Hall will serve as a giant canvas for the fabulous video mapping that the experts at Virtual Events have prepared for this special occasion.
The show mixes fantasy and history in a colorful journey of rhythms that tells the story of the “mestizaje” of the Americas, and how a “mestizo soul” was born on this continent out of the mixture of Spanish, African and Indigenous cultures. An authentic celebration of the multiculturalism and diversity of the Americas that carries a powerful message of unity and inclusion.
América Viva! was conceived by Carolina Lizarraga in collaboration with musical director César Orozco, dance director Daniela Tugues, content director Gloria Carnevali, drama director Vicente Albarracín, technical director Rafael Naranjo, and executive producer Roque García.
The event is produced by AVA thanks to the support of all its sponsors, led by the title sponsors of the event: ATR Luxury Homes and Adonel Companies.
