The Weston Cup & Showcase Tournament advertises as the largest youth soccer tournament in Florida and one of the biggest tournaments in the United States, drawing teams from all over Florida plus multiple other states. However, it was Aventura’s local team, powered by Bold Nation Sports, that secured the top spot when the dust finally settled Monday evening.
The Bold Nation U-11 Black Team played at an extremely high-level throughout the tournament winning four games, losing none and drawing one to secure the top spot in the 9v9 competition. The team players contributing to this incredible achievement were Amit Glik, Jacob Kaplan, Daniel Martinez, Zack Wexler, Tom Ben-Yaakov, Lucca Jater, Yehonatan Gilmart, Sebastian Aristeo, Sahar Harazi, Atai Layani, Antonio Rodriguez, Joao Gandolfo Caiubi and Santiago Fadel, along with the team coach Nicolas Rodriguez.
Alex Martinez, father of Daniel Martinez said, “This incredible achievement is really a testament to the hard work these kids and coaches have put in all year. The cohesiveness of the team is something that is extremely rare for kids of this age. We couldn’t be prouder of how they played and how they conducted themselves this weekend. GO BOLD NATION!”.
Carolina Estrada, mother of Lucca Jater added, “While winning is certainly the desired outcome, it isn’t the end goal for us. Winning is a byproduct of the passion and commitment from our coaches, their focus on team over the individual and providing a supportive environment where our kids can learn and grow without a fear of failure. These principals, when authentically taught and pursued, also seem to have a positive result on the field, which we are absolutely thrilled about. We are so fortunate to have found a team that emphasizes these core values and feel beyond lucky to have found it with our local Aventura Travel Team through Bold Nation”.
The team continues to practice three times a week and is preparing for the Sharks Soccer Cup & Showcase in Davie March 31 – April 2nd.
