Breast Cancer Awareness Month brings “think pink” theme from HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and Freebee

Years ago, HCA Florida Aventura Hospital asked the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce (AMC) what was on their schedule for an October meeting and the answer was, “What did you have in mind?”. With October being the traditional Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the hospital wanted to spread the word about the importance of mammograms, and so a tradition was started. The facts are that there’s a one in eight chance that a woman will develop breast cancer in her lifetime; that Black women are more likely to be diagnosed before the age of 50; that there’s a 90% survival rate if detected at an early stage; and that breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer death of women in the United States.

The AMC’s Professional Women’s Council recently held a luncheon at Ruth’s Chris Steak House and asked everyone to wear ‘something pink’ to show their support for the October Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Dr. Krystyna Tongson, D. O. ,specializing in Breast Surgical Oncology at HCA Miami-Dade Surgical Specialists, spoke about the importance of early detection, and how her team that uses less invasive surgical solutions can help patients regain their health more quickly to enjoy the activities they love.
Vianca Larice, ___________________ title, said, “ __________________________________________________________________________.”

Freebee was a supporting sponsor of this highly-anticipated luncheon, and John Janusz, Lori Hersey and Gus Doyle were there to meet and greet, and display a Freebee Tesla bedecked with big pink ribbons in front of Ruth’s Chris Steak House Aventura. Freebee is the free on-demand electric transportation system that is sweeping the nation, and Aventura is at the top of their client list with a growing demand for more vehicles…all designed to keep cars off the road. As John noted, “ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________.”

And one of the activities this audience loves is enjoying the outstanding networking offered at these exceptional luncheons. Smiles and laughter abounded as guests, including Aventura Mayor Howard S. Weinberg, Esq. (Yes there were men there too!), Vice Mayor Amit Bloom, and Commissioners Dr. Linda Marks, Michael Stern and Paul Kruss greeted friends and made new friends. Aventura City Manager Ron Wasson, Deputy City Manager Bryan Pegues and Police Chief Michael Bentolila were also among the attendees who enjoyed a spectacular Ruth’s Chris luncheon.
