THE HONORABLE SCHOOL BOARD CHAIR AND DISTRICT 6 REPRESENTATIVE, MARI TERE ROJAS, WAS INDUCTED INTO THE MIAMI DADE COLLEGE (MDC) ALUMNI HALL OF FAME 2024 ON FRIDAY, MAY 17, 2024
Each year, the Miami Dade College Alumni Hall of Fame celebrates the achievements of outstanding MDC alumni civic and business leaders in our community. This year, School Board Chair and District 6 Representative, Mari Tere Rojas, was among the ten proud honorees inducted into MDC’s Hall of Fame, 22nd Class. Chair Rojas received recognition for her exceptional contributions to education.
Rojas’ time at MDC played a pivotal role in shaping her career, providing a supportive environment that nurtured her aspirations to transform lives positively. This foundation led her to significant milestones, including serving as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, region director, assistant superintendent, Board Chair, and District 6 Representative for the third-largest school district in the country.
Through her advocacy and policy initiatives, Rojas has significantly enhanced the educational landscape in M-DCPS, equipping students to become lifelong learners and compete successfully in a global market. Her legacy is defined by her unshakeable faith in the transformative power of education and her passionate love for this lifelong profession.
“MDC has a very significant place in my heart. It ignited a passion within me that grew into a blazing commitment and dedication to our students and community. Together, we will continue to give our students the world,” said Chair Rojas.
