City manager Art Noriega V announces appointment to city leadership team

Miami city manager Art Noriega V has announced the appointment of Eduardo Santamaria as the new Building Department director.

Santamaria has moe than 30 years of professional, engineering construction, and project management experience. He previously worked as director of Public Works for the City of Miami and the City of Coral Gables. Santamaria also spent time as assistant city manager for Coral Gables where he served as a key member of the city’s leadership team with direct responsibility for the effective implementation of city-wide strategic and operational ingenuity and policies.

He also was the senior director working with the United States division of WSP, a global consulting firm to assist private and public entity clients with the development and implementation of climate resilience and sustainability policies and projects in South Florida.

Santamaria has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Florida International University. He is a professional engineer and is a Certified General Contractor.
