From October 25 to November 2, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and partners across the state will celebrate the ninth annual Mobility Week, which encourages Floridians to make safe, multimodal transportation choices. Throughout Mobility Week, partners across the state will host events that promote transportation options, highlight achievements, and roll out new initiatives and policies.

“FDOT’s mission is to provide a safe transportation system and to efficiently move people and goods throughout Florida,” said Florida Department of Transportation Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E.  “Mobility Week allows us to highlight the many options Floridians and visitors have when they travel and we are thrilled to continue working with partners to help share this essential transportation information with thousands of people statewide.”

Mobility Week is celebrated by several partners, including cities, counties, metropolitan and transportation planning organizations, transit agencies, regional organizations, employers, and transportation agencies. With these agencies’ support, Mobility Week offers hundreds of events that promote travel choices, such as walking, biking, ridesharing, transit, and driving safely across the state of Florida.

Highlights this year include:

  • Ride Roll Stroll Challenge:  The statewide multimodal challenge will take place from October 1 through November 2. Participants can record their walking, biking, public transit, or carpool trips for a chance to win prizes. For more information and to register, visit www.riderollstroll.com.
  • Community events: Floridians can attend a variety of events hosted by cities, counties and transportation agencies to learn about and try new transportation options. Find an event near you at www.MobilityWeekFL.com.
  • Virtual Conference Center: The Mobility Week Virtual Conference Center will allow community members to learn about innovative programs and initiatives from our partners throughout the state. After checking out the statewide initiatives in the “Main Hall,” visitors can take the “elevator” to visit virtual rooms from different regions.
