Seraphic Fire has announced the appointment of Dr. Daniel M. Yanez as the new executive director.
“After a national search, we are delighted to welcome Daniel Yanez to the Seraphic Fire family,” said board chair Diane de Vries Ashley. “Dr. Yanez brings exemplary fundraising experience and a deep knowledge of our South Florida community to the organization.
Seraphic Fire is fortunate to add someone with a proven track record of leadership, vision, and dedication to the team.”
Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Yanez joins Seraphic Fire from Shaff Fundraising Group, a renowned national consulting firm specializing in strategic philanthropy and engagement for nonprofits, healthcare, and education organizations.
With more than 15 years of experience in philanthropy, operational leadership, strategic partnerships, and alumni engagement, Dr. Yanez has raised over $70 million throughout his career.
He held prominent roles at the University of Miami and St. Thomas University, where he spearheaded major gift efforts and fostered high-impact corporate collaborations. He also worked extensively with the University of Notre Dame Alumni Association, contributing to key alumni engagement initiatives.
“I’m excited to begin working with Danny as Seraphic Fire continues its important work in the South Florida community bringing to light underperformed music and impacting students of all ages through our music education programs,” said Patrick Dupre Quigley, Seraphic Fire founder and artistic director. “Danny has the experience both in fundraising and operations to keep Seraphic Fire on a path of long-term growth, where we are contributing to the cultural and choral community locally and nationally.”
“I’m honored and excited to lead Seraphic Fire through this next chapter,” Dr. Yanez said.
“With my background in fundraising, operations, strategic partnerships, and marketing, I’m eager to channel my experience into strengthening South Florida’s arts and culture.
Seraphic Fire’s mission, the dedication of our team, and the remarkable talent of our world-class artists present an extraordinary opportunity for growth, and I look forward to leading Seraphic Fire to new heights.”
Dr. Yanez not only is focused on driving success at Seraphic Fire but also committed to collaborating closely with the Board of Directors and the community to inspire even greater investment in the arts.
“Seraphic Fire has untapped potential, and I look forward to working with our talented team, dedicated board, and passionate supporters to bring that vision to life,” Dr. Yanez added.
Dr. Yanez holds a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Miami, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame. He lives in Miami with his wife and two children.
