Incumbent Seat 2 Councilmember Suzy Lord defeared challenger Brook De Melo Gomes in the Nov. 5 municipal election in the Town of Cutler Bay. With 100 percent of the 11 precincts reporting, Suzy Lord received 10,077 votes (52 percent) and Brook De Melo Gomes received 9,201 votes (48 percent), with Lord winning by 876 votes.
“I am very honored to be able to serve the Town of Cutler Bay for four more years as a council member,” Lord said. “I worked very hard in my first term and plan to continue to work hard for the residents. I also want to thank everyone who took the time to vote. It is your right and responsibility to do so, and I’m pleased with the turnout we had.”
