While COVID was still very much on the minds of everyone, that didn’t stop almost 300 people from showing up at the library on Aventura Boulevard to participate in the 3rd annual charity walk to benefit Ellie’s Army Foundation, named in memory of Ellie Levy who passed away at age 23 after a long and courageous battle with cystic fibrosis.

“We had approximately 285 in- person participants and over 250 virtual participants from around the country and world,” said Ellie’s mother, Stacey Levy, “and we raised $158,000. Benjamin Bram and his wife Twila, Watermill Trading Company, were our Title Sponsors who worked tirelessly with event chairs Cindy and Scott Orlinsky to ensure such a successful outcome. We are so thrilled to have had such an amazing turnout, particularly because of the COVID pandemic. We have such an amazing community of sponsors, supporters, volunteers and participants who come out every year to help children battling life-threatening illnesses. Ellie’s Army provides financial assistance, resources and hope to these children and their families. This event will help us impact a lot of lives. Personally, I am touched by the outpouring of love towards my family and our daughter Ellie. I know that she is looking down on us smiling and saying “Thank you and well done!”
