Miami- Dade College (MDC) President Madeline Pumariega announced the appointment of Fermin Vazquez to serve as North Campus’ Interim President. North Campus is located in the northern area of Miami-Dade County and was built in the1960’s as the first MDC Campus.
North Campus encompasses the institution’s outreach academic centers, Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurship Education Center in Liberty City and the Aventura Learning Center. For over a decade, Miami- Dade College North Campus has been serving the Aventura community through its Learning Center located in the heart of the city. MDC’s School of Continuing Education and Professional Development provides a variety of programs focused on personal and professional development at the Aventura Learning Center. At the Center you have the opportunity to advance your education and upskill your career by taking college courses while being provided with a supportive on- site staff. The Language program, particularly English proficiency, has been a highlight at the Center.
Interim President Vazquez takes pride in empowering both faculty, students, and our community through development of special projects and local outreach. His personal mission is to transform the lives of students by enriching our diverse community thru academic excellence, innovation, and meaningful career opportunities.
His passion to improve the lives of the students he serves, culminates from his experiences as a proud alumnus of Miami Dade College. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Florida International University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
