Fox News’ Judge Jeanine Pirro interviews Dr. Tre Pennie, National Fallen Officers Foundation, on mass shootings

National Fallen Officer Foundation launches Protect Our Police Vest Program
Dr. Tre Pennie, Founder and President of the National Fallen Officer Foundation, recently appeared on Sean Hannity’s Fox News Show with Judge Jeanine Pirro to discuss the Highland Park, IL mass shooting attack on July 4th. Dr. Pennie appears as a regular guest on the Sean Hannity show, but rather than speaking from traditional talking points about community violence, he took the opportunity to advise the audience about the threat that social media poses to our democracy. Dr. Pennie, member of the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce, grew up in inner-city Houston, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army and is a retired 22-year police sergeant with the Dallas Police Department.

During the segment, he said, “Social media is a big part of this. Think about it. These companies are not even sharing information with law enforcement. And we know that these indicators are out here with these mass shooters. I’m sick and tired of these mass shootings happening in the United States. But the reality is these social media companies see this content on their platform and they’re not sharing it with law enforcement. So we can talk all day long about being reactionary and what signs we missed as law enforcement agencies. But the bottom line is, if we don’t get the information before the attack occurs, there’s no way we can intervene to stop the attacks from even happening. And with that in mind, I want to remind people – as the President of the National Fallen Officers Foundation — that we are coming up on the sixth anniversary of the mass shooting attack in Dallas, Texas, that claimed the lives of five police officers.”

Pennie also announced the National Fallen Officer Foundation’s Protect Our Police Program to donate protective vests to police departments that may not have access to Level 3 protective vests for their officers’ safety. “We created this program because a lot of officers are not wearing vests or are wearing expired vests which reduces their protection. There is a connection between the ‘defund the police’ issue and the agencies cutting their budgets. The one thing that the police couldn’t cut was manpower, but they did cut items like auxiliary equipment, which included bullet-proof vests. Our National Fallen Officer Foundation is now seeking corporate partners to help protect our police by donating vests. Each vest costs $750 and our goal is to donate vests in lots of ten to police agencies, and the donors can specify which agency they wish their donation of vests goes to.”
