Neighbors 4 Neighbors has been serving South Florida since 1992, but their mission of connecting those in need with those who can help has become more important than ever before.
The impact of this pandemic has been devastating for so many, and Neighbors 4 Neighbors knew they needed to help our community in every way possible. Their Covid-19 Relief & Recovery Campaign has brought $1,096,512.22 in relief to our community in just one year.
To put that into perspective, only $98,000 of that relief was in cash donations. The majority has been in donated food, essentials and masks. With many organizations, including the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce, Neighbors 4 Neighbors leveraged the connections of their partners in both the business and nonprofit sector to turn $98,000 into over $1 million in relief. This includes hot meals, toys, masks, gift cards, toiletries and more. Many of the items were delivered directly to the families hit the hardest. When you support Neighbors 4 Neighbors with a donation of any size, they will boost the impact more than ten-fold using their partnerships.
One of the ways they made an impact was by partnering with the Miami Dolphins Foundation to feed families from Miami-Dade County Public Schools in April. These families were identified by the schools as areas struggling more than others. Over three days 1,500 hot meals were provided by the Miami Dolphins Foundation. These catered meals were made by minority-owned businesses. A win-win for the community who received the meals and the businesses that were hired to prepare them.
Neighbors 4 Neighbors provided each family with a $25 gift card to Publix, Walmart or CVS ($9,375 in total), many great toys, dental kits and masks for protection.
Miami-Dade Superintendent Alberto Carvalho and CBS 4 Miami’s new V.P./General Manager Darryll Green were on hand to share in this special event.
