Starting at $56,700, the 2022 BMW M440i Coupe looks like a classic sports car. It is a well-designed, twin power turbo inline 6-cylinder, rear-wheel-drive vehicle. It gets you from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds, which is very quick.
This car is really about motorsports, which is what the “M” signals. It makes a lot of sense when you look at it from the front and side.
It looks powerful. This BMW is a fastback like the old Mustangs that I remember from when I was a kid. It was a fast brute with beautiful lines. The BMW M440i Coupe is fast and sleek and beautiful like no other car I’ve seen.
The double kidney grille is big and has a great pattern that makes you think modern and classic at the same time. The lines speak to the strength of the engine under the hood.
The 2022 BMW M440i has gotten a lot faster, with a 382 horsepower engine that produces 369 pound-feet of torque. Why is that important? Because when you compare it to last year’s model, it’s more than 60 horsepower and 40 pound-feet of torque than the 2021 model.
The 2022 BMW M440i is bigger, too, by about half a foot and is also slightly wider and taller. This is great because when you sit inside, it feels big and roomy.
I like the fact that all the important instruments inside the cabin feel close and are easy to read. The sports car feel continues on the inside with great branding that brings all the pieces together.
The seats have great stitching and fit nicely with the rest of the details in the interior to complete the solid feel of this modern coupe. Chrome accentuates all the details to reinforce the sporty feel.
On the outside, you get 18-inch M Double-spoke bi-color wheels, with 848M-style performance run tires. It keeps the 2022 BMW M440i close to the ground, hugging the road at all points.
I really like driving this car. It makes me feel good and confident, like I can get anywhere with style and comfort. The 2022 BMW M440i is a big success in my book.
