Students from Don Soffer Aventura High School’s Student Government Association are partnering with the school’s Parent Teacher Cooperative, student leadership, staff members, parents and community partners to host their 2nd annual “Night of Excellence” fundraiser on Saturday, February 22nd at Pinstripes in Esplanade at Aventura.
Ensuring there is ‘fun’ in the fundraising, there will be music, a live auction, prize auctions, bowling. bocce and food to keep the excitement , energy and entertainment levels high throughout the evening. A minimum of 50% of the funds raised will go directly to the Student Government Association’s unique grade-level boards for future student programs and other incentives.
The “Night of Excellence” aims to serve as a shining example of supportive partnerships
between Don Soffer Aventura High School and local businesses, such as the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa,
Premier Dermatology MD, The Law Offices of Laura Lavie, P.A., AFC Urgent Care Hallandale Beach, City of Aventura,
Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce and many more. After meeting with Aventura City Manager Bryan Pegues and Commissioner Cindy Orlinsky for feedback and brainstorming, SGA Executive Board President and Senior, Saniya Dhawan, said of her experience, “This is an example of why we are so fortunate to live in the City of Aventura, because local businesses and our city’s leaders want to see us succeed and they will take the time to help make sure it happens!”
Assistant Principal Dr. Andrea Beck noted, “Seeing parent leaders working hand-in-hand with student leaders makes this project particularly special. Our students are benefitting from hands-on learning as they work to produce a large-scale event.”
