When Chantale Milord, CEO of Grace Leadership Preparatory Institute in Miami Gardens received a magnificent donation of 200+ brand-new purses from Donna Eichner and Marney Florin of Ambershaye, she knew that those beautiful purses would help her create a very special Mother’s Day brunch. Working with The Power of the Heels Foundation, plans were made to combine the brunch with an empowering session about financial independence and saving through the summer, with a #OneDollarADayChallenge. With a goal of saving money, the girls from Grace Leadership were encouraged to save just a dollar a day. Ideas on how to earn that dollar came into play as Janet Gonzalez gave them tips as well as asking family members to match their earnings.
A beautiful brunch, that included the girls presenting their mothers with a purse, featured decorations made by all the girls from Grace Leadership. The brunch would not be complete without the inspiring journey of Nighat “Niki” Naseer and her life’s mission of advocating for women and girls. She shared her story, her book and her work in promoting the value and importance of girls’ education for a promising, independent, and enlightened future.
