Almost 1,000 guests turned out for the recent Creole Food Festival featuring an all-star lineup of female Creole chefs held recently at the Ancient Spanish Monastery in North Miami Beach. The festival was created as a platform to showcase the talents of black and brown chefs, and particularly female chefs in an industry being predominantly male and white.
Marjorie Dean, President of the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation, beneficiary of the event, said, “In celebration of women’s history month, the Ancient Spanish Monastery Foundation was proud to host the multicultural Creole Food Festival showcasing food from the diaspora created by a fabulous all female chef lineup!”
