Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida Presents “Dancing Prokofiev and Ravel” – A Celebration of Ballet’s Timeless Composers

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Under the distinguished artistic direction of Maestro Vladimir Issaev, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida proudly presents Program III: Dancing Prokofiev and Ravel, an extraordinary tribute to two of the most influential composers in ballet history. This mesmerizing production will grace the stages of Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and Broward Center for the Performing Arts (Amaturo Theater) this March, bringing audiences an unforgettable fusion of musical brilliance and breathtaking dance.

The program features a compelling mix of contemporary and neoclassical masterpieces, all choreographed by Vladimir Issaev, including his version of Romeo and Juliet, after Leonid Lavrovsky. Audiences will experience the passion and drama of Prokofiev’s Pas de Deux from Romeo and Juliet and the exhilarating brilliance of Classical Symphony, two works that showcase the composer’s dynamic musical storytelling and powerful, expressive movement.

Adding to the evening’s grandeur, Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida will present suites from the ballet Stone Flower, a celebrated work previously premiered in Japan for the Michiko Matsumoto Ballet in Nagoya. Thanks to the generous support of Funding Arts Broward, the company will now expand the performance to feature additional sections never before seen in South Florida, incorporating the entire company in all its splendor.

Complementing the works of Prokofiev, the program also highlights the mesmerizing composition Bolero by Maurice Ravel. As a special addition, guest choreographer Miao Zong has woven Aldemaro Romero’s Quinta Anauco / Con la Mirada del Amor into the program, renaming it Bole-RO, further enhancing the emotional and poetic depth of the evening.

The presentation of Dancing Prokofiev and Ravel is also made possible through the generous underwriting of Ms. Nina Allen, a founding member of Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, whose steadfast support continues to elevate the company’s mission and artistic excellence.

With a stunning repertoire, dazzling choreography, and a full company performance, this program promises to be an evening of pure artistic splendor, showcasing the power, elegance, and passion of ballet at its finest.

After a successful run at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, the program will be held at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Amaturo Theater on Sat. March 8th, 7:30pm and Sun. March 9th at 3pm. For tickets: www.browardcenter.org
