LION TRIBE GROUP produces Aventura “First Edition” Jazz Festival with special guest Dr. Ed Calle
Writing is like jazz. It can be learned, but it can’t be taught. Paul Desmond
The LION TRIBE GROUP founded by Jorge Estevez has specialized in producing live concerts, creative events and festivals for over 28 years, and has been helping corporations shine by delivering world-class event production services. Their first Aventura-based event will be a two-night performance with the first night, Friday, October 21st, taking the audience on a journey that pays homage to the creators of the Brazilian music genre, the Bossa Nova. That night, Rose Max will be singing accompanied by the Trio Ensemble including Musical Director and guitar player, Ramatis Moraes. Rose is the seven-time winner of the International Brazilian Press Award for the “Best Female Brazilian Singer Residing and Performing in the USA”; elected the “Best Female Vocalist of the Year” by Miami New Times; has recorded five CDs; and performs internationally. Ramatis is considered one of the legendary Bossa Nova guitarists in Brazilian Jazz, Electronic Music and Bossa Nova and has been performing at prestigious venues throughout the nation for the past 25 years. He is the three-time winner of the International Brazilian Press Award’s “Best Brazilian Musician and Musical Producer Residing and Performing in the USA”.
The second evening, Saturday, October 22nd, will feature three-time Latin Grammy-nominated jazz band, Negroni’s Trio, that will have just returned from their European Live Tour. Negroni’s Trio will take the stage and drive the audience on an imaginary worldwide tour with a fusion of Traditional Jazz, Contemporary Jazz, Bebop, Smooth and Latin Jazz.
They’ll combine and improvise the great classical techniques with jazz influences. Jose Negroni is the trio’s Musical Director as his talented son and band drummer, Nomar Negroni, creates magical moments full of adrenaline and unique tenderness while Rafael Valencia performs on Electric Bass. Valencia is an experienced musician, who combines all harmonies for total joy in performing his art in this legendary band.
To top off a perfect evening of music, the Aventura Jazz Festival is proud to announce that Dr. Ed Calle, a Latin Grammy ® Award winner for Best Instrumental Album (2015) with Dr. Ed Calle Presents Mamblue and a five-time Grammy® nominee, will be performing. Ed is an internationally-acclaimed jazz performer, prolific composer and arranger, and is in great demand as a jazz clinician who enjoys working with students. He has been a featured soloist with legends such as Arturo Sandoval, Gloria Estefan and Raul DiBlasio and from the White House lawn to many of the great concert halls around the world, Ed’s compositions and arrangements are performed and recorded regularly by a myriad of ensembles.
Estevez said, “The LION TRIBE GROUP is thrilled to bring such great jazz artists to the beautiful Aventura Arts & Cultural Center for this festival. We want to share the joy, the creativity and the free-flowing improvisation that jazz is known for. As the world-famous composer George Gershwin who wrote the jazz standards “”Embraceable You (1928) and “I Got Rhythm” (1930), and the opera Porgy and Bess (1935), which included the hit “Summertime” once said, ‘Life is a lot like jazz… it’s best when you improvise.”
