The Aventura Police Dept. led by Chief Bryan Pegues took the lead in ensuring that the recent monthly meeting of the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police would be a memorable one, with the able assistance of Rita Noa, Executive Assistant to the Chief. Miami Gardens Police Chief Delma Noel-Pratt ensured that her department co-sponsored the event.
Held at the beautiful Trump International Hotel, almost 200 guests were treated to music and song during the reception. As everyone entered the meeting room, 14 year-old Young Star singer Emily Kaufman entertained the group. The business portion of the meeting included the recognition of an Officer of the Month, selected from among nominees from all 34 law enforcement agencies involved in MDCACP. The winner was Aventura Police Officer Hans Maestre, who received a plaque and special uniform pin signifying this prestigious recognition.
Chief Pegues said, “The Aventura Police Department truly appreciates the mission of the MDCACP, one of their missions being to ensure their continuation of their scholarship fund. We always try to go above and beyond by raising substantial dollars for the MDCACP Scholarship Fund, and this year, we were very successful, thanks to a silent auction and sponsorship donations. “
