The COVID-19 pandemic has changed daily life, but many working parents still need to start making summer plans. The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center’s Camp Sol Taplin, one of the most established summer camps in South Florida, has provided children ages 3–15 with amazing summer experiences for over 40 years.
In 2020, Camp Sol Taplin was one of the only summer camps in the area that opened camp during the pandemic—providing a safe, quality program that offered a wide variety of indoor and outdoor activities. Safety protocols certainly changed—children remained in small groups with the same children and counselors throughout the day to avoid commingling, daily temperature checks were mandatory, daily health screenings before drop-off were mandatory, social distancing was performed, face coverings were mandatory, a full-time registered nurse was on staff and, additional housekeeping staff was on schedule to clean and disinfect the campus. But, the fun and excitement of camp remained the same!
In 2021, our nine-week summer program offers over 25 unique specialty and variety camps to choose from, with weekly and monthly options available so that parents can customize their child’s summer experience!
Our small-group quality program strictly adheres to COVID-19 protocols per CDC and Miami-Dade County recommendations. While Camp Sol Taplin’s current processes and procedures may change as CDC COVID-19 guidelines change, camp continues to provide children with a much-needed routine, the opportunity to make new friends, and countless adventures! Register now to reserve a space for your child with the option of receiving a full refund through May 1, 2021.
