Jackson Health Foundation celebrated the success of its second annual One Day for Jackson campaign, held on April 3. This year, the campaign achieved an impressive milestone by raising a remarkable $1 million, significantly surpassing last year’s total of $550,000. This achievement highlights the collective efforts and generosity of the Miami-Dade County community, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting Jackson Health System.

The campaign’s success is a testament to the wide array of contributors who rallied around this cause, including Jackson Health employees, local retailers, corporate sponsors, and community residents. Their unified support enables Jackson Health System to continue its mission of delivering transformative healthcare services. The funds raised will go toward enhancing advanced treatments, acquiring innovative technology, and developing cutting-edge facilities. A flagship project benefiting from this initiative is the construction of a new state-of-the-art emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital, scheduled to open in spring 2026. This facility is poised to become one of the largest in the nation, underscoring Jackson’s commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and excellence.

Flavia Llizo, the Chief Executive Officer of Jackson Health Foundation, expressed the significance of the Foundation’s work on the wider community by stating, “Even if you’ve never stepped inside a Jackson facility, you’ve felt the impact of our work.” Her words resonate throughout the community’s engagement in the campaign. The initiative featured various engaging events and activities, beginning with the Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets baseball game, where Brianna Denny, a Jackson transplant patient, threw the first pitch. This symbolic moment of hope and healing set an inspiring tone for the campaign’s success.

On April 3, local retail partners such as Chick-fil-A, Five Guys, Sushi Maki, and Vicky Bakery contributed by donating a portion of their proceeds. Additionally, Jackson Health Foundation organized carnivals across hospital locations, fostering a sense of community and encouraging employee involvement. These initiatives amplified the campaign’s reach and impact, reinforcing the spirit of collaboration and goodwill.

As the One Day for Jackson campaign concludes another successful chapter, it stands as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community unites with a shared purpose – ensuring that Jackson Health System can continue its life-changing work for all Miami-Dade County residents.
