He’s quiet…he’s humble…he’s a ‘doer’, not a ‘talker’….and he loves doing things to help the City of Aventura and others. Dimitry Shaposhnikov, Founder and CEO of DSxPress, Founder and CEO of FrandMe.com; Founder and CEO of Miami Boat Rentals and President of Programming, Inc., was recently honored by Aventura Mayor Howard S. Weinberg, Esq. and the City Commission for always going ‘above and beyond’ . When the Aventura Police Foundation was first being created with Gary Pyott as Chairman, it was Dimitry who was asked to be on the board of this new foundation . When the Aventura Police built their own Halloween Haunted House from the ground up for the community, it was Dimitry who was there, hammer and nails in hand, working nights and weekends to help them. When the Aventura Police Foundation needed someone to create and design a website, a flyer, a poster, it was Dimitry they turned to. When the City needed someone to bring in a sound system for an event, it was Dimitry they turned to.
But Dimitry’s heart extends to more than the City of Aventura. When State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle was launching her Human Trafficking program, Dimitry volunteered to create the website. The stories about Dimitry continue on about his volunteering for the community. Dimitry is also a Cantor, and when the community held a rally to support Israel, it was Dimitry they asked to come in and sing Hatikvah, the prayer for Israel. The cities of Hallandale Beach and North Miami followed suit, and he sang for their support events as well.
For all these reasons and more, the City of Aventura honored Dimitry, and proclaimed November 7, 2023 as Dimitry Shaposhnikov Day in the City of Aventura. Well deserved, Dimitry…well deserved!
