The Marketing, PR & Development Council of America’s Credit Unions recently awarded Educational Federal Credit Union (EdFed) with its prestigious Diamond Award in recognition of the credit union’s Financial Education initiatives.

During the awards ceremony in Austin, Texas, EdFed received the “Category’s Best” Diamond Award in the Financial Education category. EdFed was one of 20 credit unions from across the United States which were recognized for their efforts to educate their members on how to manage their personal finances and make sound financial choices.

“Our financial education program has had such an overwhelmingly positive response from the schools and colleges we serve at EdFed as well as from members who access our financial education content digitally,” said Cindy Reyes, EdFed’s Financial Education Manager. “It is such an honor to have our team recognized with a Diamond Award for our efforts to educate and empower our members to achieve their financial dreams.”

EdFed partners with 13 senior high schools in offering their Credit Union Professional & Educational Development (CUPED) Program that provides students with the opportunity to receive a certification in personal finance. Throughout 2024, the credit union facilitated over 320 financial education events and awarded personal finance certifications to more than 150 high school students in Miami-Dade County.

The Diamond Awards recognize the best marketing campaigns in the credit union industry. This year’s competition had a record-breaking 1,400 entries submitted, with 180 organizations from 42 states selected as winners across all categories. In addition to the award received for financial education, EdFed received four additional Diamond Awards for excellence in marketing, including for their social media content, scholarship programs, and Annual Report.

“We want to thank America’s Credit Unions and the Marketing, PR & Development Council for recognizing EdFed with five Diamond Awards this year,” said Stephen Kalman-Jacoby, EdFed’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “It is always a privilege to see our organization recognized with so many other innovative and inspiring credit unions from across our industry.”
