The Humane Society of Greater Miami’s 25th annual Brunch for the Animals reached a new “level” of success at Aventura Mall’s LEVEL THREE Venue as they raised over $130,000 for the homeless and abandoned animals in our community. With this year’s focus being on their Second Chance Fund, a fund used to help dogs and cats that arrive at the shelter in need of extra medical attention and TLC, the event proved to be even more lifesaving than ever.
Close to 250 of Miami’s most prominent animal lovers and philanthropists gathered at the iconic mall for an unforgettable afternoon benefiting homeless animals. As guests arrived at the outdoor cocktail hour, they were treated to sips sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka while they and their four-legged companions enjoyed the various activities available. A fabulous silent auction featuring a variety of high-end items enticed attendees to shop for the amazing cause. Items included an autographed Miami Heat basketball, a Royal Caribbean Cruise, and luxury hotel stays, to name a few. Several oversized lawn games, including giant Jenga, Connect Four, and cornhole were enjoyed by people of all ages. And pups had their very own Kissing Booth, courtesy of the “Vodka for Dog People” sponsors at Tito’s. Attendees had the chance to snap a pic with their own furry friend, or one of the four-leggeds available for adoption that day from the Soffer and Fine Adoption Center. And refreshing ice pops from Cielito Artisan Pops gave the crowd a refreshing treat as they enjoyed all the entertainment. And then it was time for brunch.
Inside, two-legged and four-legged guests enjoyed more than just a delicious, “five-paw” rated meal. Attendees had yet another opportunity to win fabulous prizes with an exciting raffle, which had five amazing prizes up for grabs. But the beautiful Second Chance wall that lined the LEVEL THREE Venue was the true sight to see. Photos of dogs and cats that were saved by the Humane Society of Greater Miami adorned the walls, framing the “Second Chance At Love” grass wall backdrop. Throughout the course of the afternoon, dog and cat ornaments were added to the wall. These ornaments sported the names of future canine and feline residents that would be saved by the animal welfare organization thanks to those who pledged donations that day. This new fundraiser generated hundreds of additional dollars and ignited the room of heroes with a feel-good energy for the rest of the afternoon, highlighting the great success of this life-saving brunch.
A special thank you to the 2023 Brunch for the Animals Sponsors who helped make the day such a great success: Aventura Mall, LEVEL THREE Venue, David Ross and Henley, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Cielito Artisan Pops, Gencom, Miami Open, City of Sunny Isles Beach, drvn, Eddy + Roland at ONE Sotheby’s, Florida Blue, Kanguro Pet Insurance, Morris & Reynolds Insurance, Pet Bar, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House Aventura.
