When Aventura Mayor Howard S. Weinberg, Esq. attended the U. S. Conference of Mayors, national conference, he saw a presentation from IKE Smart City that provides digital wayfinding kiosks for municipalities around the nation, and he knew that technology could provide a clear service to his residents, businesses, shoppers and travellers.
“Convenience, directions, dining guide, selfies, information, emergency notifications, and so much more at ZERO cost to taxpayers and a minimum payout of $600,000 a year to the people of Aventura. Another win/win pubic-private-partnership (P3) that is the hallmark of my administration, “ said Mayor Weinberg.
At the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by IKE Smart City and the City of Aventura at the JW Marriott Turnberry Isle Resort, Aventura’s elected officials, leaders of the Aventura Marketing Council/Chamber of Commerce (AMC) and other business leaders joined the celebration.
Aventura will have 15 of these top-tier kiosks that will feature information about city resources, arts and cultural offerings, shopping, restaurants, hotels, businesses, job boards and so much more. IKE Smart City was formed by Orange Barrel Media (OBM), a national media company that has been pioneering a community oriented model of outdoor media since 2004, using best-in-class hardware and software.
