Want to take your child fishing, and don’t know where to go? Now there is Kids Fish Fridays! an extension of the Kids Let’s Go Fishing! Program (www.kidsletsgofishing.com) that provides families with a fun, educational fishing experience. This program starts Friday, June 9 and runs through August 9, 1:30 PM to 5:30Pm. The Reward Fishing Fleet will host this weekly event with the 70-foot vessel “Another Reward” docked at Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd 33132.
The Miami-Dade Cooperative Extension Sea Grant program is partnering with the Fishing and Conservation Trust (FACT) to offer this weekly event to encourage parents and kids to share the wonderful activity of fishing. Fish Florida! Is providing kid friendly fishing tackle. In addition to learning basic fishing skills, this event will encourage ethical angling for future generations by helping children develop an appreciation of the marine ecosystem and its resources. Prior to fishing, participants will receive an educational briefing on safety precautions, fishing rules & regulations, use of tackle, and proper fish handling and release techniques.
They will then board ANOTHER REWARD and fish on inshore reefs with light tackle and barbless circle hooks. In case of rough sea conditions, we will fish in the protected waters of Biscayne Bay, Catch and release is encouraged. As they fish, children will learn about fish identification, as well as their biology and ecology. Space is limited, and registration with prepayment is required. If there are no more available spots on a particular Friday, interested parties may be registered for the following week’s trip to ensure everyone has an opportunity to have fun!
Fishing tackle, bait and licenses are included. Participants should bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and snacks. The cost is $75 for one adult with one child. Additional children per one adult pay $25 each. Credit Card payments will be accepted at the Reward Fleet (305) 372-9470

REWARD FISHING FLEET and the Fishing And Conservation Trust out of Bayside
Marketplace in downtown Miami offers free fishing trips for residents and visiting children 12 years old and under when accompanied by a full-paying adult ($75) on any regularly scheduled half day or evening fishing trip. Departure times are 9am, 1:45 pm, 8 pm daily.
Limited space available, booking and payment in advance is required. Please mention this promotion to get your best discount. If you have additional children let us know, we will be happy to accommodate them for an additional fee per child.
