This April, join Senator Lauren Book, the Lauren’s Kids team, and thousands of survivors, advocates, and community members from across the state for the 10th anniversary of the Walk in My Shoes. Together, they’ll walk a combined total of 1,500 miles across Florida – beginning in Key West on April 2nd, continuing on through Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Boca, Coal Springs/Parkland, Naples, Ft. Myers, Sarasota Beach, Pasco, Tampa, Cocoa Beach to Satellite Beach, Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Orlando, Ocala, Gainesville, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Marianna and ending in Tallahassee on April 30th. The Walk brings awareness, education, hope, and healing. Whether you’re able to walk with them for a block, a mile, or more, every step counts in the fight to prevent child sexual abuse and help survivors heal. Did you know? 95% of child sexual abuse is preventable with education and awareness?
That’s why they walk — to shine a light on prevention, support survivors, and protect children in communities across our state. Mark your calendar now to participate or support this Walk during National Sexual Assault Awareness Month and National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
