Miami-Dade Commissioner Kionne L. McGhee, District 9, is calling on all eligible Floridians to register to vote and participate in the upcoming election as part of a strategic effort to secure vital federal resources for the state. The federal government allocates many of its resources based on population participation numbers, making it crucial for Florida to demonstrate strong civic engagement through voting.
Florida is home to over 22 million residents, with approximately 14 million eligible voters. However, current data shows that around 6.7 million registered Floridians voters did not vote, leaving a significant gap that could hinder the state’s ability to secure the resources necessary for infrastructure, education, healthcare, and disaster relief.
“Every vote counts, and more importantly, every voter counts toward building a stronger Florida,” said Commissioner McGhee. “If we want the federal support we deserve, we need to show that Floridians are engaged and committed to our democratic process. Participation is key.”
In light of this, Commissioner McGhee is asking for Floridians to step up as **Democracy Ambassadors** by encouraging their communities to vote. Whether through personal outreach, local events, or social media campaigns, Democracy Ambassadors can play a critical role in closing the voter registration gap and ensuring Florida has the participation numbers required to access these essential federal resources.
If you’re passionate about ensuring Florida gets the support it deserves, you can become a Democracy Ambassador today by encouraging friends, family, and neighbors to register and vote. Every vote not only strengthens our democracy but helps Florida meet participation benchmarks needed to qualify for federal funding.

Let’s work together to secure a stronger, more prosperous future for Florida.
