Everyone has a hero, and Ruanne Spivack found her hero just recently. While walking her dog Mitzvah by the sea wall in back of Waterview Condos, she heard a splash and was horrified to see Mitzvah in the Intracoastal waters. There was no one around, and not knowing how to swim herself, she was distraught as she tried to find help…but there was no one to be found. Resigning herself to the inevitable, Ruanne saw Keith Stewart walking her way with his dog. It wasn’t but a moment before Keith jumped into the water to save Mitzvah. “Keith was an angel from God—selfless, caring, kind, and I will forever be indebted to him –he is my hero!” said Ruanne. Keith Stewart and his wife Abby have three dogs, and four children whom they homeschool. The entire Stewart family attends The Cross Church every Sunday. As Ruanne said, “They are true role models in this community!”
