With the support of the Israeli Ministry of Labor and Department of Welfare, Chamah has been successfully operating day care centers in Israel for over two decades. The high standard of education and efficient operation of the Chamah Day Care Centers has drawn the attention of many other similar facilities across the whole of Israel.
Representatives from these organizations have come to visit the Chamah locations in order to learn how to implement these successful child care methods in their own day care facilities. Currently, the Chamah Day Care Centers have reached maximum capacity and cannot accommodate the many children on the waiting list. With the recent completion of a new housing development for over 1,000 families in Kiryat Malachi, the situation has become even more pressing. Many of the residents are young families with children. As COVID-19 is still prevalent, the availability of day care is all the more crucial to allow essential workers to provide services and the parents to earn a livelihood.
The cost of construction is $1,505,556, The Israeli government is bearing ninety percent of the cost of construction, and it’s up to Chamah to fund the remaining ten percent. In addition, Chamah is responsible for covering the cost of furniture, the commercial kitchen, playground equipment, landscaping, security cameras, indoor gym, toys and a laundry room, for the additional cost of $150,000. Construction is close to completion. A generous donor will match every donation up to $150,000 — dollar for dollar. Your gift will go twice as far to enable us to open this beautiful, greatly needed facility without delay.
