Free contest open to ALL Miami-Dade and Broward County students, focusing on the theme of “Football’s Wild Side: A Kickoff to Conservation”
Orange Bowl has partnered with Moss, Bank of America, Florida Blue and Zoo Miami to bring its annual Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest to South Florida schools. The initiative affords all K-12 students in Miami-Dade and Broward schools the opportunity to win prizes by submitting artwork.
The theme for this year’s contest is “Football’s Wild Side: A Kickoff to Conservation.”
Students are encouraged to submit artwork that creatively incorporates the visual elements of South Florida’s vibrant ecosystem and OBIE (the Orange Bowl’s official mascot). Through their artwork, students will not only showcase their creativity but also highlight the importance of protecting our natural world, blending sports enthusiasm with a commitment to conservation.
Every student that submits artwork will receive one free ticket to the 2024 AutoNation Orange Bowl Basketball Classic on Saturday, Dec. 14 at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla., along with access to discounted tickets for family and friends.
Students of all ages can win a variety of prizes; the Grand Prize winner will receive a custom Orange Bowl bicycle and two tickets to the 2025 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Capital One Orange Bowl at Hard Rock Stadium on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025. The Grand Prize winner will also be recognized during the game and have their artwork displayed as a full-page acknowledgment in the official game program.
Teachers can also join in on the fun – the educator whose class submits the most entries will receive a DonorsChoose gift card that can be put towards schools supplies and classroom projects.
OBIE has already started touring schools throughout South Florida to help promote the Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest. At each school visit, students will have the opportunity to interact and play games, learn more details about the contest and receive fun promotional items to generate excitement for the competition. Promotional videos will be available to share with students and teachers to explain the contest in more detail.
Please contact Samantha Stout at (305) 341-4737 or email at sstout@orangebowl.org to schedule a school visit as part of the OBIE School Tour and for more details about the Orange Bowl Creative Art Contest.
Contest entries may be submitted via mail to the Orange Bowl Committee office (14360 NW 77th Ct, Miami Lakes, FL, 33016) or uploaded online at www.orangebowl.org/cac/. For physically mailed entries, students must complete the entry form and attach it to the back of their artwork. All entries must be submitted online or received at the OBC office by Friday, November 22, 2024 by 5 p.m. EST. Winners will be announced and contacted on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
