Celebrated hospitality veteran to oversee all operations of acclaimed 685-room resort
Fontainebleau Development, owner of the iconic and award-winning JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Miami Resort and Spa, has named hospitality industry veteran Shane Allor as the resort’s new General Manager. Mr. Allor, who previously served as the property’s Director of Sales and Marketing from 2017 to 2020 and oversaw its transition from Turnberry Isle Miami to a JW Marriott, will now lead operations across all departments, including sales, marketing, and revenue management; while ensuring a world-class guest experience at the 685-room resort.
“I have enjoyed and embraced every step of my career journey, and this property holds a very special place in my heart,” says Mr. Allor. “JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa is a spectacular destination, and I am extremely proud to return as General Manager. “Looking ahead, I hope to build on the resort’s foundation of success and foster a culture of excellence that leaves every guest delighted and every team member feeling valued and empowered.”
Mr. Allor brings an expert familiarity and understanding of the Marriott brand to his new role, as he has held multiple roles with the company across two decades of his 35-year career. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager for JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort and Spa; Director of Sales and Marketing for JW Marriott Camelback Inn Resort and Spa and Rancho Las Palmas Marriott Resort and Spa; and Director of Sales for JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. Mr. Allor was most recently General Manager of Sheraton Orlando Lake Buena Vista Resort.
“We are thrilled to welcome Shane back to JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa,” says Fontainebleau Development Senior Vice President and Managing Director Patrick Fisher. “Shane’s three decades of leadership and success, and particularly his experience with Marriott hotels, makes him the ideal person to further elevate the resort’s award-winning reputation.”
During Mr. Allor’s previous tenure, JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort and Spa was recognized as one of the “Top Resorts In Florida” in the 2019 Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards and made Travel + Leisure’s “The World’s Best Awards” list in 2020. The hotel has also received AAA’s coveted Four Diamond Award and the Four-Star Award from Forbes Travel Guide.
