South Florida PBS Announces Da Vinci: An Immersive Art Experience Educational Enrichment Program with Generous Philanthropy from The Jim Moran Foundation and The Klorfine Foundation
South Florida PBS is excited to unveil the Da Vinci Educational Enrichment Program, an initiative designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking through immersive learning. Made possible by the generous philanthropy of The Jim Moran Foundation and The Klorfine Foundation, the program will offer organized field trips to the Da Vinci: Immersive Art Experience for underserved elementary, middle, and high school students in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.
This educational enrichment program provides a holistic approach by integrating arts and technology, fostering creativity and critical thinking skills among students. The field trips are designed to align seamlessly with classroom learning, supported by a specially crafted curriculum for Art, Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Through these lesson plans students gain meaningful insights and establish connections between their classroom lessons and the immersive experience.
In addition to experiencing da Vinci’s groundbreaking contributions to art and science, students will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity. Projects and artworks created by students will be proudly displayed in the welcome tent of the Da Vinci: Immersive Art Experience. Through this generous donation, South Florida PBS is able to provide teacher training, transportation for schools, and educational resources among other support.
“This program underscores the importance of providing equitable access to enriching cultural experiences,” stated Dolores Fernandez Alonso, President and CEO for South Florida PBS. “With the generous philanthropy of The Jim Moran Foundation and The Klorfine Foundation, we are able to bring the transformative power of arts and technology to students with limited access to extracurricular opportunities, igniting their creativity and inspiring innovation within their local community.”
Field trips began in November offering students a hands-on exploration of Leonardo da Vinci’s works, including his contributions to art, science, engineering, and anatomy.
The Da Vinci: Immersive Art Experience is open to the public at South Florida PBS Studios and is now open through May 2025. For more information on the educational program or to learn how your school can participate, visit https://www.southfloridapbs.org/davinci/education/.
