It’s a December to remember at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and The Parker with shows that bring joy and light to audiences of all ages. From Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! and Anastasia the Musical to Debbie Gibson and Jen Kramer’s Magical Holiday Show at The Parker and Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros performing at both venues, audiences have a choice of holiday happenings.  

At the Broward Center:

On Wednesday, December 4, The Outlaws return to the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center at 8 p.m. for the band’s 10th annual homecoming concert, “Green Grass and Yuletide Jam,” with special guests John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band as part of the Cleveland Clinic Rock Series. Formed in Tampa in 1972, The Outlaws are known for their triple-guitar rock attack and three-part country harmonies. Experience gold and platinum Southern Rock hits including There Goes Another Love SongGreen Grass & High TidesKnoxville Girl and Freeborn.

Tony® Award winner Levi Kreis brings the magic of home to the stage this holiday season—get ready to laugh, sing and feel the warmth of the holidays during Levi Kreis: Home for the Holidays Tour in the Amaturo Theater as part of the Baptist Health Red Carpet Series on Thursday, December 5 at 8 p.m. With a seamless blend of jazz, gospel, country and rockabilly, Kreis delivers a fresh and unique perspective to a flawless collection of Christmas classics and holiday favorites. From uproarious storytelling to soul-stirring renditions, Kreis will leave audiences laughing, crying and filled with the spirit of the season.

The Broward Center for the Performing Arts and Emery Entertainment present Christmas with C.S. Lewis starring David Payne in the Amaturo Theater on Saturday, December 7 at 2 and 7 p.m. The year is 1962, and C.S. Lewis, the famous British author who gave the world “The Chronicles of Narnia” and a Christian legacy that few can match, hosts a group of American writers at his home near Oxford, where they gather to hear him speak about the significant events and people that shaped his life. In the spirit of Christmas, Payne shares Lewis’ reflections on the holiday season, delivering a blend of insightful oratory and humor that made him one of England’s most celebrated public speakers.

Slow Burn Theatre Company’s 2024/2025 Season in the Broward Center’s Amaturo Theater, presented by American National Bank and Visit Lauderdale, unwraps Anastasia The Musical during the holidays from Saturday, December. 21 through Sunday, January. 5. Including a sensory-inclusive performance on Saturday, December 28 at 1:30 p.m. and open-captioned performance on Sunday, December 29 at 2 p.m. Inspired by beloved films, this musical takes audiences on a journey from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the vibrant euphoria of Paris in the 1920s. The story follows a brave young woman named Anya as she seeks to uncover the mystery of her past. However, she is pursued by a ruthless Soviet officer intent on silencing her. To aid her quest, Anya teams up with a charming conman and a lovable ex-aristocrat. Together, they embark on an epic adventure to help her find home, love, and family. The Broward Center’s sensory-inclusive programming is made possible through the generous support of ABA Centers of Florida, The Batchelor Foundation, The Gore Family Memorial Foundation Trust, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and The Taft Foundation with special thanks to UM-NSU CARD for their in-kind support.

At the Parker:

The warmth and spirit of New Orleans comes to South Florida this holiday season, celebrate as the Preservation Hall Jazz Band returns to The Parker as part of the TD Bank Jazz Series on Sunday, December 1 at 7 p.m. It’s a Creole Christmas as the band performs New Orleans classics as well as some of the best-loved holiday selections with a twist. 

Get ready for irresistible harmonies and festive soul sounds when Under the Streetlamp: Hip to the Holidays delivers an electrifying show driven by an inspired catalog of classic Doo Wop, Motown and rock and roll hits at The Parker on Thursday, December 5 at 7:30 p.m. Four dynamite Broadway performers and an ensemble of world-class musicians perform a joyous concert packed with smooth harmonies, soul-touching music and stories and thrilling choreography with favorite holiday tunes as well as songs from the American Radio Songbook including “I’ll be Home for Christmas,” “Santa Bring My Baby Back,” “Run Run Rudolph” and “Avé Maria.” 

The magic of the season comes to life with timeless classics and Sinatra’s smooth and elegant style when Mark Tremonti Sings Frank Sinatra:  Christmas Classics New & Old comes to The Parker as part of the Baptist Health Red Carpet Series on Thursday, December 12 at 8 p.m. in a concert presented by the Broward Center for the Performing Arts and AEG Presents. Tremonti’s dynamic musical career spans influential bands leaving an indelible imprint on hard rock with over 40 million albums sold and chart-topping debuts. The GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum musician sounds just as at home paying homage to the catalog of Frank Sinatra as he does fronting Tremonti or shredding his soul out as the guitarist for Alter Bridge and Creed. Just in time for the holidays, he delivers Christmas Classics New & Old with nine renditions of holiday anthems and one original tailormade to “put a smile on your face, make you feel good, and get you into the Christmas spirit, according to Mark.

Recording and Broadway star, Debbie Gibson, stars in Debbie Gibson: Winterlicious – An Evening of Holiday and Hits on Friday, December 13 at 8 p.m. at The Parker as part of the Baptist Health Red Carpet Series. This holiday season, she will treat audiences to songs from her 14-track album “Winterlicious,” which delivers a blend of classic Christmas hits like “Let It Snow,” and a special mashup of “Jingle Bell Rock and The Christmas Song” and originals including “I Wish It Was Christmas Everyday” and “The Gift.” 

Celebrate the most magical time of the year at The Parker with Jen Kramer’s Magical Holiday Show as she transforms the impossible into the impossible-to-ignore on Saturday, December 28 at 8 p.m. at The Parker as part of the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Imagination Series. Kramer wows audiences with her contagious smile and world-class sleight-of-hand, this time with a unique holiday twist. She’s performed for audiences around the world and been featured on “Pen & Teller: Fool Us,” “Masters of Illusion” and NBC’s “Today Show.” 

Also, at The Parker this December is the South Florida Symphony Orchestra: Handel’s Messiah (Dec. 7), Arts Ballet Theater’s The Nutcracker (Dec. 20-22) and The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine: Swan Lake (Dec. 27).
